Administrative Assistant (Full and Part Time)
Description: Our growing tax and accounting office provides high quality services to small businesses and individuals. We prepare all types of business tax returns and complex individual returns as well as represent clients before the IRS with their audits and collection cases.
This position requires a highly competent individual with a wide variety of office skills. Flexibility and multitasking are keys to success. The Administrative Assistant must be a positive team member while completing disparate administrative duties. We can teach technical skills, we can't teach a better attitude.
Each team member must share our commitment to maintain a helpful attitude, do what you say you will do and complete your work as an expert.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma – some college desired. Numeric Keypad (10-key) Data Entry Skills. Moderate typing skills (minimum 50 words per minute). Computer software knowledge and experience including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Excellent telephone skills. Positive, professional attitude at all times.
Major Responsibilities: Numeric data entry of monthly accounting/payroll/vendor details into computer software. Printing and assembling monthly/quarterly accounting and payroll reports. Quickly contacting client referrals. Preparing mailings for clients/potential clients. Coordinating/scheduling/tracking client work flow. Collecting, filing, directing electronic correspondence including email, online portals, eFax, etc. Answering telephones, directing calls, taking messages, and scheduling appointments. Calling clients to remind them of upcoming appointments. Calling to inform clients when completed work is ready for pick up. Greeting arriving clients. Collating and assembling completed tax returns. Filing completed tax returns and other client documents. Maintain tax return log. Basic typing. General filing. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Level I Tax Preparer
Description: Our growing tax and accounting office provides high quality services to small businesses and individuals. Level I Tax Preparer will perform basic income tax preparation duties. He/she works on an employee-commission basis, and is expected to be an effective team member by supporting other office operations as needed. Tax preparers are encouraged to promote business growth through networking, handing out their business cards, telling friends, etc. Paramount provides the needed tax software, computer, office supplies, paper, internet connection, reference materials, work space, etc. to perform the required job responsibilities.
All tax preparers need to have a positive, helpful attitude towards all co-workers and clients. We can teach technical skills, we can't teach attitude.
Work hours are flexible, but during peak season the expectation is to work at least 5 days a week with occasional Saturdays and evenings. All tax preparers are expected to maintain professional relationships with clients and other employees at all times. Integrity and honesty are minimum requirements for success. Therefore, all preparers are expected to abide by the standards laid out in IRS Circular 230.
Furthermore, tax prepares are expected to be inquisitive about tax laws and regulations. Asking questions, seeking advice, and conducting research are strongly encouraged. Thus, Level I Tax Preparers must stay current on appropriate tax law changes and updates through reading professional journals, IRS announcements, etc. Likewise, all prepares must be able to communicate their tax knowledge to clients in a positive, helpful, easy to understand manner. Continued employment beyond the typical tax season (January to April) is possible depending on the right candidate.
Minimum Requirements: High School Graduate with appropriate tax preparation education, or previous tax preparation work experience. Basic typing skills (minimum 30 wpm). Moderate computer skills and experience. Basic numeric keypad skills (minimum 5000 kph). Current PTIN in good standing. Excellent people skills. Minimum 16 hours CPE annually.
Major Job Responsibilities: Conduct client interviews using supplied checklist. Prepare basic individual income tax returns: 1040EZ, 1040A, and 1040 with schedules EIC, A, B & basic D. Georgia 500 full year resident returns. Check completed returns for errors. Answer basic tax questions for clients. Conduct research on tax questions/issues related to client returns. Confer with and assist co-workers on tax questions.
Other Responsibilities, as needed: Make client appointments. Assemble and collate completed tax returns. Answer telephone, direct calls, take messages. Greet arriving clients. Maintain tax return log. Other responsibilities as assigned.
